Disc Centrifuge

Description

There are many types of disc centrifuges, but in terms of the essence of their separation process, they can be basically divided into two processes: centrifugal clarification and centrifugal separation. The disc centrifuge can quickly and continuously separate solid-liquid and liquid-liquid, and is a type of vertical centrifuge. It is mainly suitable for the separation and clarification of materials with solid content less than 5% and solid phase particle diameter greater than 0.5 microns.

It is widely used in the extraction of tetracycline, penicillin, vaccine and insulin in pharmaceutical factories, the clarification of oral liquid, the separation and clarification of fermentation liquid in fermented brewing products, the collection of bacteria in the field of microorganisms, and the regeneration of lubricating oil in the chemical industry. Oil-water separation, biodiesel, dairy separation, and liquid-solid or liquid-liquid-solid separation of other materials.

Working Principle

The separated material is fed into the heart of the machine, that is, the inside of the drum. Under the action of strong centrifugal force, the material (mixed liquid) passes through the interval of a group of disc bundles. The large liquid (heavy phase) moves along the disc wall to the outside of the neutral hole, where the heavy slag accumulates in the sediment area, and the heavy phase flows to the large centripetal pump. The liquid with lower specific gravity (light phase) moves inwards and upwards along the disc wall and converges at the small centripetal pump. The light and heavy phases are output by the small centripetal pump and the large centripetal pump, respectively.
